Buurtuin — Terms of Service

Welcome to Buurtuin. By using the app you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're short.

Who can use Buurtuin

You must be 16 or older to use Buurtuin. By continuing you confirm that you are.

Your account

• You can browse most of the app anonymously. Some community features need a Google sign-in.
• You're responsible for what you post and for keeping your account secure.
• You can delete your account and data any time in Settings → Delete account.

Community rules

Buurtuin is a friendly place for gardeners. When you post, you agree not to:

• post illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, or violent content;
• spam, scam, or advertise without permission;
• impersonate others or infringe anyone's rights;
• share other people's private information.

Moderation is automatic: software checks text and photos as you post them and hides anything it flags, without a person seeing it first. Content is also hidden automatically once several different people report it. An admin may additionally hide or remove content and suspend accounts.

If you think we got it wrong, say so — email Buurtuin.App@gmail.com and a person will review the decision. You can report or block content and users from the "⋯" menu.

Your content

• You keep ownership of what you post.
• You give Buurtuin permission to store and show your content within the app so the community can see it.
• Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

Guides & advice

Plant care, sowing dates, and the plant doctor are general guidance for the Netherlands climate — not guarantees. Use your own judgement, especially with anything you intend to eat.

Swaps, events and meeting people

Buurtuin helps gardeners find each other. What you then agree between yourselves — swapping seeds, sharing a plot, meeting up — is between you. We're not a party to it, we don't check anyone's identity, and we don't handle money. Use the same judgement you'd use with any stranger.

Availability

Buurtuin is free, run by one person as a hobby, and provided "as is". We try to keep it working but can't promise it's always available, error-free, or that your data is never lost. Keep your own copies of anything you'd hate to lose.

We may stop running Buurtuin, or close an account that breaks these terms. If we shut the service down we'll announce it in the app first so you can get your data out.

Which law applies

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away the protections of your own country's mandatory consumer law.

Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date will change and significant changes will be announced in the app.
